Our History:
With 10 years of styling in Evanston under his shears, founder George Flanary struck out on his own in 1992 to develop a salon that would serve his clients in an atmosphere that reflected his own attitude and aesthetics. The result was George Salon, a shop with laid-back appeal and great stylists, all of whom held the same belief as George: that getting your hair styled should be relaxing and enjoyable, and that no one needs to feel intimidated or in awe of their stylist to get a great cut.
The salon moved to its current Davis Street location in 2000, a fantastic space that would accommodate his loyal client base - and his growing group of newcomers. Today, after nearly 25 years in the trade, George is still in the salon every day, making sure his clients are well taken care of. It's this hands-on approach that gives the salon its warm, personable atmosphere and keeps the stylists churning out great work. We look forward to your first - and next! - appointment with us. I was approached at our office, American Express Travel in Evanston by one of the Best Salon Search team and purchased a George Salon promotional certificate. The person selling the certificate, Judy, was an amazing sales person and made this salon sound almost too good to be true. Since I purchased the introductory gift card and began to use it I have found that Judy was actually under promising about the service I would get at George salon because what I did receive was far and above. The atmosphere is amazing, the salon is beautiful, the culture laid back and personal and the talent simply amazing. This George Flanery is a superior beautician and is training his people very well. The management there is very personal and inviting and since I have been there, I have been a regular customer and could never be convinced to try another salon (not even by one of the Best Salon Search marketing managers). I have told all my friends and family who also will be attending and have received nothing but compliments about what those at George Salon have done with my look and appearance. I am sure that you all know how hard it is to find a salon like this and for that reason I am writing this review. Consider this a public service to you. My experience at george salon was very refreshing. I have been to many salons and this was a fun place to be! I had a stylist named Karin. She gave me a great bob,stylish but easy for me to style on my own. The staff is laid back and super helpful about the products. If you want a salon you can hang out at and get a great cut this is the place!

I was referred to George Salon by one of the BestSalonSearch.com sales associates when I purchased their introductory gift card. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, the service that I received and with the salon in general. The gentleman that sold me the card, David, was wonderful. Very helpful and understanding. The salon is beautiful, the staff is as professional as they can be and the over all experience was delightful. I recommend George Salon to anyone that is looking for high-end treatment. I will definitely be continuing to return to George Salon for all of my beauty needs and will also be recommending BestSalonSearch.com and their services to any and all of my friends and family. I couldn't be happier with my cut, color, style and the service that I have received from both companies.

I had a great experience at George Salon. The staff is super friendly, and the stylist I had was awesome. She had no problem understanding how I really wanted my hair. The price is nice and they offer a student discount!
